Gift: Over the next 15 years, Oregon non-profits will receive millions of dollars in the form of host fees and savings off their electric bills.

When Energy Wise entered the solar industry in 2009, after 10 years manufacturing energy efficient lighting, it was more than just a smart business decision. For founder and owner Peter Greenberg, it was an opportunity to help Oregon reduce its carbon footprint, support good jobs and build a renewable energy pipeline for years to come. Having installed over 3.5 megawatts of solar arrays on over 75 sites in Oregon and with 2.0 megawatts in the pipeline, Energy Wise knows solar and has made going green easy.

Gift: Blazing a new paradigm for wholesome food that is fun, affordable and socially responsible.

The more than ten cafes sprawling over Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, and Reno, NV, offer locally sourced burritos, salads, bowls, smoothies, an organic green juice bar and, according to many, the best micro-brews available on tap. The vision is simple: work with local purveyors whenever possible, source high-quality ingredients and make nutritious fare accessible to more people – all in a fun, quirky environment. Every Laughing Planet Café is a meeting spot, a community-building forum, and a place to sit and talk with friends and strangers.
