Beneficial Banker
Location: Oakland, CA, Porterville, CA, and Seattle, WA

The primary duties of a Beneficial Banker vary from greeting customers, processing deposits and payments, and maintaining our customers’ accounts. Beneficial Bankers will also assist in verifying customer identities, posting loan payments, and balancing all daily transactions.


Commercial Loan Processor
Location: Sacramento, CA

The Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for loan operations activities including loan documentations, production and maintenance of collateral and credit files, collateral filling and control. Tickler entry and follow-up, loan system reporting, loan inquiring and problem resolution in support of lenders, customers and branch personnel.


Consumer Loan Servicing Representative
Location: Fresno, CA or Porterville, CA

Consumer Loan Servicing Representatives will provide quality service to the customers of Beneficial State bank (BSB) through, but not limited to, receiving inbound and making outbound telephone inquiries from internal and/or external customers. Responsibilities includes providing information, following thru on customer inquiries and requests, making collections calls, and resolving issues promptly. 


Customer Care Center Specialist
Location: Portland, OR (MLK branch)

The Customer Care Center Specialist is responsible for providing back-office support for customers, branch networks and other departments.  Responding to various inquiries, resolving complex issues, and identifying and implementing ongoing efficiency improvements in branch and departmental operations procedures.  The position is responsible for ensuring minimal losses, conformance with bank policy, state, and federal regulations, and meeting customer service expectations and standards, as well as supporting the branches/departments in meeting customer service expectations and standards.


Legal Collections Department Representative
Location: Porterville, CA

The Legal Collections Department Representative is responsible for operational duties, but not limited to: processing legal invoices, assessing fees, processing payments, preparing complaint worksheets, preparing default judgment and execution packets and processing bankruptcy items. This role is also responsible for updating alerts on accounts regarding the status of the complaint legal process, sorting mail and other operational functions, as necessary. The position requires a keen eye to detail, strong organizational skill, and the ability to follow procedures and instructions to multi-task quickly and accurately in different areas of operation.


Regional Manager
Location: Seattle, WA

The Regional Manager is responsible for oversight of all sales and business development activities in the designated market related to commercial and small business lending, deposit products, cash management sales, and other commercial products and services offered by the Bank.  The individual in this position is expected to be active in the market communities, engaged with local non-profits and business associations/industry groups, promoting positive leadership and direction for the region, and seen as a market leader in the community. This position directly supervises the market team of Commercial and Small Business Relationship Managers, with indirect leadership of Client and Treasury Management Sales Officer(s) to ensure that loan; deposit; fee income and loan pricing goals are achieved or exceeded.


Senior Beneficial Banker
Location: Portland, OR (Beaumont branch)

Senior Beneficial Banker is responsible for performing routine branch and customer services duties which includes the responsibility for efficient and accurate cash handling, opening and closing IRA’s, CDs, checking and savings accounts, and processing deposits/withdrawals; selling company products and services, ensuring customer awareness of all products and services. Operates a bank window to serve the Bank’s customers by: processing checking, savings IRA’s, and CD deposits and withdrawals, verifying cash and endorsements, and providing customers with their receipts; identifying customers and documenting identity.


Senior SBA & Commercial Loan Processor
Location: Sacramento, CA

Senior SBA & Commercial Loan Processor is primarily responsible to SBA related loan operation activities including loan documentation, production and maintenance of collateral and credit files, collateral filling and control, tickler entry and follow-up, loan system reporting, loan inquiring and problem resolution in support of lenders, customers and branch personnel.


Special Asset Portfolio Manager
Location: Portland, OR (Downtown office)

The Special Asset Portfolio Manager is the primary contact for identified credits for borrowers and agents of the bank which associates in negotiations and creating approval requests. Primary responsibilities on collections and rehabilitation of commercial loans, not limited to, SBA, CRE and Business Banking. Other focuses on analyzing and recommending appropriate workout strategies to maximize value of all loan assets of portfolio. This position requires attendance and coordination of bank and borrower meetings and calls.


Underwriting, SBA  
Location: Oakland, CA, Sacramento, CA, or Portland, OR (Downtown office)

The Underwriter, SBA’s primary duties are analyzing financial data, preparing initial credit analysis, analyzing portfolio credit quality, and assisting with any ongoing financial analysis of existing lending relationships. This position will assist the Underwriting Manager in analyzing and spreading financial statements and underwriting a variety of industries, loan products, and collateral types, though key focus are SBA loans.

"Beneficial Banking" Summer Internship Program

Developing the Next Generation of "Beneficial Banking" Leaders & Ambassadors

To build the pipeline for the next generation of leaders, Beneficial State Bank and Foundation are proud to offer an intensive summer internship program which provides valuable work and learning experience to high-caliber students interested in beneficial banking, community economic development and responsible financial services. Through this 9-week program – with tracks for both collegiate and MBA students – interns work on challenging projects and complete deliverables designed to advance key initiatives and programs at Beneficial State.

Under the direction and mentorship of bank staff, each intern will complete a capstone project and present their findings to the executive leadership team at the end of the program. Additionally, to supplement the learning experience, interns gain exposure to community and socially-responsible banking through the "Beneficial Banking" Curriculum & Speaker Series. Led by experts in the fields of community banking, investing, and responsible finance, these workshops provide exposure to the challenges confronted by professionals in the industry and include site visits for interns to see the work in action.

Past interns have both joined the Beneficial State team after graduation and leveraged their rich internship experience into careers in financial services and a variety of socially-responsible sectors.

Each year, we conduct a nationwide search for the best and brightest to join Beneficial State. We look for highly skilled individuals whose passion for economic justice and environmental sustainability match the vision and goals of our organization. While we primarily target students pursuing an MBA or a related graduate degree, we will have a track for exceptional undergraduates who are completing their degrees this year or have graduated within the last year. Individuals from other academic disciplines are also strongly encouraged to submit an application.
