Beneficial State Bank, a mission-driven community bank serving the Portland area, is this year’s presenting sponsor for the Women’s Collegiate Softball League All-Star Softball Festival, in full swing from July 15- 17 at Portland’s Erv Lind Stadium

July 11, 2022, Portland, OR – Beneficial State Bank, a mission-driven community bank with three branches in Portland, is up to bat as the presenting sponsor for the Women’s Collegiate Softball League’s All-Star Softball Festival from July 15- 17 at Erv Lind Stadium in Portland. The all-women’s summer league is the only one in the nation, allowing collegiate players a 42-game summer season they wouldn’t get otherwise. The festival is a community grand slam, allowing residents to celebrate these talented women for a three-game series while getting affordable, family-friendly entertainment complete with music, food, drinks, games, and more.

“Beneficial State Bank is excited to pitch in as the presenting sponsor for the only Women’s Collegiate Softball League in the country,” said CEO Randell Leach. “As an organization that aims to foster community growth, connection, and inclusion, we are grateful for the opportunity to support the league this season. This sport has a special place in the heart of Portlanders, and I know the festival will be a home run for community togetherness and fun. I’m looking forward to attending myself and cheering on these talented athletes!”

The league is also partnering with community organizations to sell tickets, with these organizations retaining 50% of the proceeds. Four local little leagues are selling tickets to their members for all three games: Beaumont Softball Little League, Hollywood Rose City Little League, Wilshire Riverside Little League and North Portland Little League. The Pink Phoenix Dragon Boat Team is selling tickets to benefit breast cancer survivor groups for Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, July 16.

The Women’s Collegiate Softball League was launched this year to provide women softball players across the country with the opportunity to play in a summer league. The bases are loaded for a fun time at the Erv Lind Stadium, an iconic venue established in 1948 and named after the coach and manager of Portland’s best-known women’s softball team.

“The Women’s Collegiate Softball League provides a much-needed opportunity for women softball players to advance as athletes during the summer months and build character both on and off the field,” said Monique Johnson, Director of Client & Community Partnerships at Beneficial State Bank. “As the presenting sponsor of the league this year we are proud to support an organization that is committed to helping young female athletes reach their full potential while supporting local businesses and showing the Portland community a great time. As a mother of a fellow female college athlete, the bond and character that these young women build from leagues just like this one are priceless to their community and future, personal endeavors. Now let’s play ball!”
