Beneficial Banker (2 openings)
Location: North Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA and North California
The primary duties of a Beneficial Banker vary from greeting customers, processing deposits and payments, and maintaining our customers’ accounts. Beneficial Bankers will also assist in verifying customer identities, posting loan payments, and balancing all daily transactions.
Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist II (1 opening)
Location: Portland, OR
Loan Servicing Specialist II is responsible for loan servicing activities including payment and advance processing, warehouse transaction processing, participation settlements by wire, file maintenance on existing loans; production and maintenance of collateral files and creation of online files in DocuShare. Loan Servicing Specialist II may also be responsible for loan insurance follow up and interaction with Bank’s insurance vendor; tickler entry and update; loan boarding and/or call back and quality control of new and renewed loans; general ledger and transaction posting at the direction of Loan Servicing Supervisor or Loan Operations Manager and daily portfolio balance reporting to management.
Consumer Loan Servicing Representative (2FT or 4PT openings)
Location: Fresno, CA and Porterville, CA
Consumer Loan Servicing Representatives will provide quality service to the customers of Beneficial State bank (BSB) through, but not limited to, receiving inbound and making outbound telephone inquiries from internal and/or external customers. Responsibilities includes providing information, following thru on customer inquiries and requests, making collections calls, and resolving issues promptly.
Consumer Loan Underwriter (1 opening)
Location: Fresno, CA or Porterville, CA
The Consumer Loan Underwriter, analyzes direct and indirect applications, and authorizes or recommends approval/denial of applications for consumer loans while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures. Within established lending authority, approves and disburses loans submitted through direct and indirect channels. Provides direction and assistance to lending staff and underwriters with lower lending authority. Establishes and maintains relationships with and acts as liaison between dealers and Beneficial State Bank. Makes recommendations to update loan policies and procedures as warranted.
Community Outreach Coordinator (1 opening – Foundation)
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Community Outreach Coordinator plays a crucial role as the connector in the Central Valley and execution of community engagement for the Financing Assistance Pilot Project (FAPP). Community Outreach Coordinators will use initiative, creativity, and diplomacy in an effort to meet the Foundation’s mission, expand the Bank’s name recognition in social and environmental impact circles in the Central Valley, and implement the FAPP outreach strategy.
Customer Care Center Specialist (1 opening)
Location: Portland, OR
Customer Care Center Specialist is responsible for providing back-office support for customers, branch networks and other departments. Responds to various inquiries; resolves more complex issues; identifies and implements ongoing efficiency improvements. Develops and implements branch and departmental operations procedures. The position is responsible for ensuring minimal losses, conformance with bank policy, state, and federal regulations, and meeting customer service expectations and standards, as well as supporting the branches/departments in meeting customer service expectations and standards.
Executive Assistant & Project Support (1 Opening)
Location: Oakland, CA
The Executive Assistant and Project Support is responsible for providing administrative support to highly complex and responsible nature, of Commercial Banking, with high-level of internal and external contacts which requires considerable discretion and initiative. This role coordinates and keeps calendar of schedule meetings, appointments, and visitors while assisting in project leads to ensure project timelines are met, independently answer telephone calls and routes correspondence, and exercises judgment to reflect executive’s style and company policy.
Marketing Operations Specialist (1 opening)
Location: Oakland, CA
Marketing Operations Specialist supports activities across all areas of the Marketing department, with a focus on print and online publications, social media, digital analytics, public relations, and event logistics. As an integral member of the sales marketing growth team, this position requires applied knowledge of marketing automation tools, database management, and reporting to optimize growth with incremental improvement and visionary transformation across marketing operations. This is a critical role within the marketing department and includes high-level visibility, interaction with cross-functional teams, acting as liaison to external partners, and collaborating with the board of directors and investors.
Underwriting, SBA (1 opening)
Location: Oakland, CA, Sacramento, CA, or Portland, OR
The Underwriter, SBA’s primary duties are analyzing financial data, preparing initial credit analysis, analyzing portfolio credit quality, and assisting with any ongoing financial analysis of existing lending relationships. This position will assist the Underwriting Manager in analyzing and spreading financial statements and underwriting a variety of industries, loan products, and collateral types, though key focus are SBA loans.

"Beneficial Banking" Summer Internship Program
Developing the Next Generation of "Beneficial Banking" Leaders & Ambassadors
To build the pipeline for the next generation of leaders, Beneficial State Bank and Foundation are proud to offer an intensive summer internship program which provides valuable work and learning experience to high-caliber students interested in beneficial banking, community economic development and responsible financial services. Through this 9-week program – with tracks for both collegiate and MBA students – interns work on challenging projects and complete deliverables designed to advance key initiatives and programs at Beneficial State.
Under the direction and mentorship of bank staff, each intern will complete a capstone project and present their findings to the executive leadership team at the end of the program. Additionally, to supplement the learning experience, interns gain exposure to community and socially-responsible banking through the "Beneficial Banking" Curriculum & Speaker Series. Led by experts in the fields of community banking, investing, and responsible finance, these workshops provide exposure to the challenges confronted by professionals in the industry and include site visits for interns to see the work in action.
Past interns have both joined the Beneficial State team after graduation and leveraged their rich internship experience into careers in financial services and a variety of socially-responsible sectors.

Each year, we conduct a nationwide search for the best and brightest to join Beneficial State. We look for highly skilled individuals whose passion for economic justice and environmental sustainability match the vision and goals of our organization. While we primarily target students pursuing an MBA or a related graduate degree, we will have a track for exceptional undergraduates who are completing their degrees this year or have graduated within the last year. Individuals from other academic disciplines are also strongly encouraged to submit an application.
