Robert A. Wilkins Sr. is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of the East Bay, the largest youth services organization in the San Francisco East Bay. He is regarded as a national leader in the development of innovative youth, community development and health improvement programs. He is also recognized as an expert in program startups, turnaround management and organizational development. YMCA of the East Bay provides programs and services to more than 59,000 children and adults in Alameda and West Contra Costa counties annually. Mr. Wilkins is an ordained clergyman and Adjunct Professor at American Baptist Seminary of the West in the area of Nonprofit Administration and Management.
Wilkins holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California; He holds Masters degrees from American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, CA; Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, and doctoral studies at the Graduate Theological Union. He is an alumnus Fellow at the Center for Social Innovation at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Wilkins is a trustee of the American Baptist Seminary of the West, and the Graduate Theological Union; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oakland Museum of California; a member of the Boards of Directors of the Lake Merritt Uptown Community Benefit District, and the One California Bank Foundation, as well as the Public Policy Committee of the California State Alliance of YMCA.
